To switch or not to switch (to LED), that is the question.

Incandescent light bulbs are being phased out and even banned in countries around the globe, and the question remains what will be the technology to replace the products removed from the market. 
CFL bulbs are used in residential and commercial applications, providing significant energy saving compared to incandescent or halogen bulbs.  The latest technology in Lighting is LED, targeted at replacing both incandescent and CFL, but in spite of the many benefits of LED lighting technology, adoption of the technology has been slow, to say the least, due to the high upfront cost of the end products to consumers.  Given the "economics" of the alternatives, (with CFL having a significantly lower upfront cost compared to LED), what is the reasoning for consumers to switch or not to switch from incandescent to LED or CFL?
Facts:  (comparing  good quality LED to good quality CFL)
- LED light bulbs , are more energy efficient than CFL.
- Quality of light for LED light bulbs can be closer to incandescent in color
- LED bulbs turn on instantly, no warm up time like CFL, and can operate at cold temperature
- LED can be controlled by dimmer easier than CFL
- Lifespan of LED is up to 10 times longer than CFL.  This adds to the savings for commercial applications
- LED has no substances that contaminate the environment, like Mercury in CFL.  It is a known fact that MOST people DO NOT take the bulbs to a recycling center but throw them in the garbage instead.
- LED light directional pattern is ideal for spot lighting, like R20, PAR30, PAR38 or troffer replacements, as there is no "wasted light"  like in CFL, (which uses reflectors to focus the light in the desired direction).
Are the above benefits strong enough to make you switch to LED?  At what price?
